Bet on Hold’em

In Texas Holdem, the first step is to get the card game started, and for this the players put out a certain total of cash. ‘Posting the blinds’ is the commonly used saying for this play. In the following step, the dealer shuffles the deck of cards and deals out two cards face down to all players. A regular deck of 52 cards is used. After the deal, there is the first sequence of wagering. This round is normally referred to as a "pre-flop".

After the first wagering sequence, the top card is discarded. This tossed aside card is known as the "burn card", and this is done to ensure there is definitely no treachery. The next 3 cards are then flipped face up on the poker table. These cards are ‘the flop’. Now follows a second sequence of betting, after which the dealer throws away a further card and flips 1 more card onto the table. Following this, players can use the sixth card to create a 5card poker hand.

An additional round of betting follows, and in many styles of poker, here is where the bet size increases. There is an additional round of throwing away a card, and a closing deal of a card face-up on the poker table. This is called the "river". Players can now utilize any of the 5 cards on the poker table, and/or the two cards that they are holding, to assemble a 5card poker hand.

To wrap it up there is another round of wagering. Then, all the players remaining begin to display their hands. This is referred to as the "showdown". Clearly, the competitor who shows the best hand wins. When players have even hands a splitting of the pot is considered.
