Internet High Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

Gus Hansen had a marvelous year on the WPT where he was the only one to make it to the last table in 3 of the competitions. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You may remember one of the largest pots in big stakes poker history against Daniel Negreanu. Gus raked in a massive pot with 4 of a kind against Negreanu’s full house. Hansen has earned many tv poker appearances and is deemed to be one of the greatest players around the world. While wagering on internet poker, another side of Hansen has appeared. He often competes in the 200/400 NL max buy in of $40, 000. Hansen more often than not buys in for the minimum of Sixteen Thousand dollars and gambles very weak. He waits patiently for a decent hand and then goes all-in. I know Hansen is an outstanding poker player but certainly not even close to the familiar players at 200/400NL. Unless Gus is bankrupt, he has little or no reason to sit at the table with the min buy-in.

Playing for the min takes a majority of the skill out of deep stack poker. Gus is supposed to be one of the greatest poker players in the world but he can’t buy-in for the total amt.. I think television can alter our perception of the real world sometimes. The greatest players in the world might be guys you have never heard of. Gus can be seen wagering on net poker on Full Tilt. He usually plays in big stakes omaha high and texas hold’em. Gus Hansen has proven himself as a tournament player. Can he back up his abilities in money rounds?
