NL Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
Phil Ivey has been branded as the best poker competitor on the globe by many of the top-ranked pros. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to Jersey before reaching turning one. His papa taught Phil one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From then on on, Phil was addicted to poker and wished to learn everything he could about poker. He routinely told his elders that he wanted to be a professional poker player. He did not permit the detrimental feedback from other people destroy his dream of becoming one of the greatest poker competitors in the world.
Phil started playing seriously after acquiring a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He practiced his game at the casinos in Atlantic City. The first number of years for him were a learning period and coming away with a win was not a common outcome at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he achieved two final tables and won his first WSOP bracelet, in a two dollar, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the last table he defeated many of the well known professionals which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
He made a decision to take his skills to the successive level and moved out west to Las Vegas. He continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players on the planet. Ivey credits his success to discipline and an undying love for the game of poker. He says that he is learning every day and is incredibly humble about his success. He admits to making errors every single game of poker and constantly aspires to get better.
Although Phil has won some large tournaments, he likes destroying money games on a regular basis.
